• 96m x 20m Portal Frame Manufacturing Buildings
• 122m x 44m Portal Frame Manufacturing Building and Wire Strand Store
• Molten Aluminium unloading building and furnace area
• Deep pit foundations for machinery support
• Drum and Bulk Liquid Stores

Challenge Faced / Engineering Problem Solved:

• Heavy continuous process machinery slabs and footings
• Hydrostatic water pressures on foundations due to machinery pits up to 7m deep
• Specialist waterproofing admixtures used to facility speed of construction and long term durability

Construction systems used included:

• Building supported on steel screw piles and concrete pile caps
• Stiffened raft slabs and footings designed as suspended
• Conventionally reinforced concrete foundations for heavy machinery support
• Structural steel framed walls, roof and awnings
