Project Details

The project comprised the following:

• Development of a 7.75ha site for equine training facilities
• Review of heritage listed buildings on site
• Architecturally designed horse stables
• Horse walkers, horse pools and spas
• Access roads and stormwater infrastructure

Challenge Faced / Engineering Problem Solved:

• High animal safety standards where required, so MPC paid careful attention to the design of connections in the structural framing such that no sharp edges or projections occurred that horses could potentially harm themselves on
• The development was located on a moderatey sloping site, however there were strict limits on the allowable slope of horse paths around the facility. MPC designed earthworks, retaining walls, external pavements and stormwater drainage to deliver safe and durable pathways within the required limits
