Challenge Faced / Engineering Problem Solved:

  • Variable fill material and founding conditions plus limitations required for noise and vibration solved using steel screw piles
  • Structural design required to cater for future expansion, additional mezzanine classrooms and change of use including retractable seating loads
  • Large span over sport courts and future use required allowance for catwalks in truss depths
  • High lateral wind forces required high deflection performance to cater for brittle internal finishes

  • Building supported on steel screw piles
  • Continuously reinforced stiffened waffle pod ground slabs
  • Structural steel framed walls and roof with deep trusses
